I'm just now getting into punk. I like Discharge, the Dicks, Bikini Kill, The Screamers. What's some good hardcore stuff to dive into next?
Bonus points for anarchist/left lyrics
Did you hear the new Discharge album from last year? I think they're the only band you mentioned who is hardcore punk. The others are just punk.
You should try (safe) grindcore/powerviolence, avoid stuff like Anal Cunt as it most likely it will violate your safe space

Aren't the Dicks considered hardcore?

Not that I've heard but maybe I'm mistaken. I'll put them on now.

So far I dont think so although it's a common misunderstanding and I'm sure the majority of people would disagree with me. Songs like Lifetime Problems is what I've personally dubbed "violent punk" but it's not fast enough be hardcore. It's an important distinction because I think that's exactly why bands like Circle Jerks were formed. They were hardcore punk where Black Flag was just violent punk.

Just go with the classic 80's stuff for now, the rest will come naturally. Start with shit like Minor Threat, Black Flag, Bad Brains, etc

You have to ease into this kind of stuff usually, it's probably still too early for him.

See what I mean? I'm in the vast minority who insist that Black Flag never recorded a single hardcore song. Going back to The Dicks it can be a very slight distinction on songs like Fake Bands but that's why it's a subgenre.

Thanks for the recommendations. Also I'm glad you got the opportunity to feel smug talking about "safe spaces"

The bands you mention have almost nothing in common with each other
