hello /mu/
i would like to get audio interface to use for playing guitar, because i cant really use amp and the possibility to also record is nice

i would like to hear what you think and maybe recommend me some you use or have experience with
prize under 80$
so far ive been thinking about ALESIS CORE1, LEXICON Alpha, STEINBERG UR12 (which is little bit over my prize range) and Behringer UM2 U-Phoria (but this one is out of stock in every shop i checked in my country so getting it would be harder)

please be nice, i dont really frequent /mu/ but ive been told to ask here
thanks any help you give me

Both the Alesis and Lexicon should work fine with whatever software you end up using
I think they both come with Cubase LE anyway
>>
>>73256897
thanks, do you have any experience with them
the most important thing for me is the latency,
ive read a lot of reviews and some are praising them, but some say there is a lot of latency
but my guess would be that those people didnt get the right drivers and stuff

i think i would rather go with the alesis because i dont really need 2 inputs and outputs anyway
>>
>>73256975

Why the fuck are you asking anything? You're talking about $80 and some retarded software. It doesn't matter why you buy for $80, it's going to be garbage.

You don't need to be asking about fucking audio interfaces, you need to be asking someone for a part time job. Get the fuck out of here with your dumbass poverty questions.
>>
>>73256975
I don't own either of them so I can't tell you about the latency but I've heard they're both fine
I use a Roland interface myself and I just keep the drivers up to date and the latency is minimal

>>
>>73257521
Supposedly. Though they have a reputation for being poor quakity, nit a bad amp for the price and sounds pretty damn good. Ive had no issues other than a few tubes going out prematurely, though I chalk that up to playing an 8 string in dropped E. Not a great idea for combo amps.

are you talking about adding natural 7s and/or b5s to chords? a b5 added to a minor chord is a diminished chord, and a natural 7 in a minor chord is a min/maj7 (harmonic minor)

Need some scale help,

So another member of the band has come up with a song. There is a part where we go through 3 bits where the notes are:

part 1; D, C, B, A x (however many)
part 2: D, B, A#, A x (however many)
part 3: D, B, A#, E

Im playing bass for this part and trying to find a scale that I can walk around with. Problem is I can't find a scale that uses these notes. Closest I can get is like D dorian? D minor pentatnoic almost works, but you can't use B (I could use E instead?).

Has he just chosen bung notes that don't work? How can I get around this?

I don't really know, we only jammed it out the other day, those root notes for me match his guitar chords (they are probably bastardised guitar chords, missing notes etc). I'm just trying to find something to walk around to not make it so boring. Think of a bass line line Pink Floyd - Breathe. Very similar drum style to that for this part.

What makes you come to that conclusion? When I ask him the questions you are asking me (what kind of chord is it, what notes are you using), he just says the notes I said before.

I wont deny I am looking at this the wrong way (sticking to scales etc), but I need some kind of foundation to practice off before the next jam.

lmao you newfags realize froosh never actually existed right...? that's like the whole meme. if you were actually around in early 2014, froosh was just an inception meme where there was this supposed mastermind who nuked a general by getting everyone to make the threads about them when the reality is they never existed in the first place and everyone was memeing each other. even the trip was used by everyone. some trip even claimed that the dude who doxed himself was his IRL friend as a big meme to further the inception meme.

The only way this happens is if you turn the hell out of your truss rod. Look that shit up on youtube and be careful when making adjustments, but the rest of a setup is pretty damn simple. Action is all about personal preference. Lower the strings until they're in a comfortable position but there isn't any buzzing. Intonation is also pretty easy to correct for most guitar models.

i just did mine the other day. if its a fender or a gibson there are guides online, probly more for the rest of the big ones too. if its not, use one as a base. like anon>>73261417 said its about your personal feel and just making sure it doesn't buzz and has good intonation. if your uncomfortable with the truss rod then don't touch it but you can fuck with everything else and almost certainly change it if you don't like it.

Wow.

The Crybaby and the DD-2/3/6 are the only pedals in that worth getting and even then they're overpriced one trick ponies. The Chorus is the next almost usable pedal but it's incredibly lacking in versatility and application. The DS-1 and Overdrive are two of the most incredibly overrated pedals I can think of. If you want absolutely terrible distortion on a tube or solid state amp, then get those. If you have money, buy actually good and capable replacement pedals/power supply/pedaltrain so you can make decent sounds.

Just do it concurrently.
Learn the major, minor and pentatonic scales.
Once you can run through multiple octaves of the major chord you will realise that the modes are basically just the major chords which starts at a different root.
Then expand on chords, learn about triads, and then inversions.

Thoughts on American professional strats?

Thinking about getting this one
>>
>>73265100
Did you play it? How does it feel to you?
It does have a different neck design "deep C", which you may love or hate.
Also they have the v-mod pickups in, which some people love but I'm not too keen on.
Personally, I don't think the "made in USA" tag is worth the money, but to each their own.

>>73265448

Yes you can play with single coils, I've seen Persefone do it for one track at one of their shows. But you need to learn how to dial in a tone first.

I'll never get that.

>>73265100
Good, get it if you like it, Pluses, bone nut, polyurethane finish. I prefer the medium jumbo frets, and the c to d necks of the Elites but I could live with these. The saddles and tuners could be upgraded with modern solid saddles and locking tuners.
A thing about the finish, I hate polyester guitars with a 1/8 inch thick layer of plastic wrapping it. The polyurethane is so much thinner, where polyester is harder it also tends to shatter when dinged, I had this happen when I was putting a guitar in a stand and "tapped" another with the strap button and actually shattered the polyester while not denting a mahogany body.
For me, it's more about the feeling, I don't like polyester at all and I avoid it.

In an A/B class tube amplifier, for every amplification stage a pair of tubes is employed to amplify the system; one amplifying the "lower" half of it and one amplifying the "top" half. Both tubes need the same supply voltage. There is a potentiometer (variable resistor, think volume knob) inside the amp that you can use to adjust these. You'll need a voltmeter and some screwdrivers.

Its the infinium auto biasing one.
Bass frequency rattles the tubes in the combo amp and cause shortened life. Here is a tube from another amp that rattled itself apart inside.

As for the amp being bad, its a cheap peavey jsx copy. I had a tube go out because a bandmate would not use the standby, and moved the amp while tubes were hot. I put a new matched quad of JJs in and one burnt out after a couple jam sessions, most likely was a bad tube, but I just popped a stock bugera tube in and its been fine since.

Priced at ~55% off new, price is FIRM & NO trades!

Guitar was assembled on Jan. 8, 2017 by Ted Stevenson. It's in the exact same, like-new condition, as it was when I received it. It's never been gigged, played sparingly only at home (pet/smoke free) and has sat in a case, along with a couple of Boveda packs to maintain proper humidity, when not being played.

>Cheap Höfner 500/1 copy

>Epiphone Thunderbird IV Pro

>Shitty Rouge acoustic painted up like Pink Floyd's The Wall

>Maharajah Musicals electric sitar

>Unbranded Japanese banjo (I think from the 70's)

>Alesis SR-16 (for when I go live, otherwise I just use DAW to record)
