I was in the thread where Batlord posted his trip. Man that was a shitshow. I also especially remember Lady Gaga's Teeth and The Tourist. I miss the old tripfags.

But what I miss most of all were the golden days of Mediafire and Megaupload, back when there were multiple image maxed genre/theme specific share threads per day. I was underageb& when I first started lurking and boy did this place diversify my taste in music. I think I left shortly before the tourist. I've been here since the 11th of March, 2011.

I came here ritualistically until about Septemberish 2012, with my longest absence during that period being about a month. I've been coming here on and off since then, but apart from early 2015, I've never stuck around for more than a month or two. The website and I have both changed too much and the experience is just not the same.

It's unfortunate that there's zero sense of community anymore as for a lot of people /mu/ was a really integral part of their early adulthood. There's a lot of people on this site that I felt like I made a genuine connection with and while I don't keep in contact with them anymore, the very mention of their name reminds me of being a stupid as fuck 18-year-old staying up until 4 in the morning while shitposting and discovering music.

I want all of you to know that I sincerely love you. /mu/ was a really great community and a lot of great people spent a lot of time here. I'll always have a special place in my heart for all of you guys.

I hope this doesn't read too much like a suicide note.
