I saw The Avalanches last night.
Here's the setlist:

and was really disappointed. I understand electronic music especially plunderphonics would be something difficult to replicate in a live performance but it really seemed like they didn't give a shit about making it even sounding close. I was really into Wildflower when it came out but I honestly was happier when they weren't playing songs off that because when they would, they almost seemed like they were playing a parody of a song they wrote.
They had these guest vocalists and both of them were good but they couldn't help but do their own stuff instead of just doing The Avalanches work.
Anyway, DJ sets suck.

please expand. I know that DJ sets lend itself to improvisation and modulation of the material but they had the Wildflower flag as the backdrop, they should have just played the album straight through.
