closed backs are fine, it really just depends on where you're using headphones and the type of sound you prefer

open backs suck for public spaces, but can give a very nice spacial feel to the music

closed backs are great for public spaces, but the music feels like it's in your head

Yeah. best way to describe it is that open backs feel more open and closed back feel more closed.

Also opens will bleed like hell into your recordings.
