a huge amount of people know about them because he reviewed tms or exm with a really good score and the arg hype was around that same time. Im glad it gave them the deserved exposure but the fucking autism of people labelling them industrial or experimental hip hop and comparing them to yeezus and blackie is unbearably shallow. Even in hella, zach and spencer never conformed to a scene or genre. They jumped from mathrock to noise rock or progeshit freely and since they didn't have such a shitty fanbase they were never stuck doing a certain sound or playing godawful festivals or being subject to ridiculous speculations about being avant garde or whatever the fuck cause they were just a loud, crazy, fun band to listen to. Now everything they do has to have a fucking thinkpiece written about it and if its not the second coming of rachmaninov then its soundcloud mumblerap garbage and they are limp bizkit tier bad. fuck fantano and fuck /mu/

The major labels promotion is what broke them into the mainstream. Fantano was important, but he's not the only one who praised them. He might be under the labels influence as well. Reminder that DG was shilled on p4k as well around the same time in 2012.
