Okay /mu/ I need some help. I need to write a paper on rock and roll music history, one specific aspect about it. It can be pretty much anything, from a person, to technology, I just need to have tracks to show the influence. I just don't know jack about what to write about. I can research fine but can any of you give me any ideas on what to write about? I'd appreciate the help a lot.

I intend to, this isn't for a music class it's a writing class, there's been nothing taught about music or anything related to it. I just don't know a good topic to start with because I don't know much about music.

Why not write about someone like the Allman Brothers Band...who influenced them and who they in turn influenced in their 45 year career

Very timely considering Brother Gregg's recent passing
Write about how "rock & roll" is just a polite code-word for "rhythm & blues stolen by wh*tes"

something something Brian Wilson transformed The Beach Boys from fun-in-the-sun bullshit into one of the most important psychedelic groups from the late 60s to early 70s, aiding the Hippie Movement in the U.S. and inspiring many (kind of) experimental artists today such as Animal Collective, Tame Impala, and The Flaming Lips. They helped popularize the concept album, and Smile remains possibly the most popular unreleased record of all time, right up there with, say, Detox. Plus, everyone covers their shit.
