/Mu/'s opinion Yoko Ono's music?

reddit hates her so i think shes actually underrated and quite good

Only heard Plastic Ono Band and Fly, but it's pretty great.

I know she's influential to a lot of underground artists, particularly Sonic Youth, but I just don't get the discordant screaming and wailing she does a lot of the time.
I wonder what John saw in that?

I've never listened to any of her stuff but I always thought it was funny to see how low her more experimental albums are rated on RYM because of salty beatles fans leaving a ton of 0.5 reviews that are just DUDE SHE BROKE UP THE BEATLES LMAO

I don't know how much of it is her input and how much was Lennon's and the other backing musicians', but her earliest stuff in particular is really great and should be held to a higher level of respect than is. I can't see why someone who would like something like Faust or Captain Beefheart wouldn't like it.

A lot of it was her jamming with the band assembled for Lennon's first solo album (Lennon, Ringo, Klaus), with her vocalizing what John was improving on guitar.

Her later stuff she started writing actual songs though.
