Long shot here but fuck it, anyone here care about early Lacuna Coil? They're billed as metal but I always thought their penchant for atmsophere over riffs made their early stuff more like "heavier than usual goth rock" than anything. Their first 3 albums and 2 EPs are great but post-Comalies it gets pretty dodgy.

It's not like SOM gave people the idea to start pandering to the nu-metal / emo crowd. If anything their influence helped improve some fucked-up mallgoth bands like Deathstars in the 2000s.

Looking for a tribal-industrial type band in the vein of Crash Worship. Mixture of tribal drums/drumming and a variety of harsh noises. I know there are a few out there that rely in electronic sequencing but I'm really looking for something more organic. I want to feel compelled to douse myself in blood and mud and light my floor on fire and dance around it like I'm about to go to war.

Karmacode was definitely their tipping point, still a few good songs in the vein of their old style there but it was also the beginning of the end. You haven't missed much from the albums since but I still think the stuff before it is pretty good. Comalies in particular has a special place in my heart, I don't think I'll ever not love that record.
