Hey guys, so I had an idea I wanted to run by here and see if there was a substantial amount of interest.
Basically, I was thinking someone could set up a website(probably me) and on a monthly basis a poll could be held to decide on an album to press that is unavailable on vinyl. The winning album could then be preordered while whoever runs the website places an order from pirates press. It would be like vinyl me please but more democratic and with the ability to get vinyls that don't exist anywhere else. Thoughts?
i'd definitely be interested. not sure how much customisation would be possibe but having some signifier of them being /mu/ issued pressings would be pretty neat.
As long as records are serving there purpose as a space to share ideas, they're ultimately serving their intended purpose

Pirates press is pretty good about customization, my only/main concern is the legality of pressing certain records that we don't have the rights to, even if it isn't being done for profit.

While I appreciate your participation in the thread I don't see how this is relevant to the topic at hand
Press The Death of Pablo, I want to own a meme on the meme format
What will be the sound source for this ? I remember someone trying to do something similar to this four rdj's soundcloud dump

Well whoever is in charge would likely be holding threads that not only are dedicated to hosting the polls but also to finding the highest quality flacs/cdr's , which I think is one of the benefits of crowdsourcing this type of thing

Please, somebody, finally do it.

Wouldn`t the vinyl just sound like shit though?

Why would it? As long as the recordings sent to pirates press are high quality, there's no reason for them to sound bad. Not to mention the fact that test pressings exist for quality control.
