More avant-garde metal like this?
there's very little metal in that album
listen to Disco Volante
>>73179209
I like Disco Volante already. Desert Search for Techno Allah is god-tier.
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
>>73179176
not avant garde
>>73179289
Listen to Naked City s/t
>>73179176
>>73180275
and barely metal
have a recommendation though
>>73180380
I love Estradasphere bro. That and Buck Fever are goat.
>>73180420
What about their other albums? I haven't listened to anything beyond Buck Fever.
>>73180502
Palace of Mirrors is also great. It's more orchestrated than the first two though, and they dropped the video game music entirely, so it could be a slight disappointment in a sense depending on your taste.
Quadropus is a little uneven and more vocal-focused, but even the weakest Estradasphere album is like a 7/10 imo.
>>73180380
My fucking man.
Though
>John Wooley and Timb Harris aren't regularly making music anymore
:_;
>>73179176
http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/crotchduster/big_fat_box_of_shit/
Amazing album.
>>73180569
I'll be checking those out then, thanks mate.
>>73179463
Even better choice, especially if you're looking for metal. Their band members have tons of side projects too and the one's I've heard so far are all great.
>>73179176
>avant-garde
>like this
try again
Thoughts on Darth Vegas?
dog fashion disco - adultery
>>73179463
>they might be touring again
>might release their final album/film
I want to believe.
Also I really enjoyed Free Salamander Exhibit. Was kinda reticent to try since it was basically just SGM without Karla but it's pretty damn great.
>>73181004
I really miss Carla though. What's she up to nowadays? I enjoyed her solo album, but that was a long time ago.
>>73181043
The Rabbit Radio stuff.
I've only tried pieces of it but I like what I've heard. I really enjoyed her solo stuff as well as her other collabs, like the one with Sakoto Fuji.
>>73179176
Man I miss when I was young and thought Mr.Bungle was the shit. Try Estradasphere OP. I remember liking this band to death.

>>73181128
>>73180380
Aw fuck sorry someone already posted it. Secret Chiefs 3 it is then.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6w6R_R0cKE
>>73180986
Legitimately great album.
I think they get shit on a bit too much because of the whole Nu Metal aspect, but Adultery is a great album.
I also like their early stuff like Experiments in Alchemy.
>>73181096
>like the one with Sakoto Fuji.
Holy shit, I didn't even know about this until now. The Book of Knots was also pretty cool iirc.
>>73181128
>not posting their very first song which is probably also their magnum opus
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_M-Lw4_Bfo
>>73181249
She's technically Tzadik alumni so she's done some cool stuff with a few of the other label artists, if I recall.
Also yes Hunger Strike is by far the best Estradasphere song. My favorite, too.
I really like their live version of D-Flat Hell, though.
>>73181128
So are you implying that Mr. Bungle and Mr. Bungle-esque bands get grown out of eventually?
>>73180960
Shit compared to superior Bunglecore. Both their albums are 5-6/10.
We should make a Bunglecore chart (ex. Mr Bungle, SC3, Trevor Dunn's Trio Convulsant, Nuclear Rabbit, Dog Fashion Disco, etc.)
>>73181412
Damn... I really like that album.
Ruins maybe?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNR76MvTinI
>>73181499
Technically Ruins (and Yoshida) released music before Bungle.
Dog Fashion Disco
>>73181480
It's just my opinion
>>73180380
I can't find a download for this anywhere
Anyone up to making regular bunglecore generals? I like this thread.
>>73182080
Their stuff has gotten hard to find.
Plus all their physical CDs are fairly expensive.
>>73182080
It's all up on Spotify.
>>73182623
I found a download on soulseek, might post it on a sharethread later
>>73179176
seconding
>>73179463
>>73180338
>>73180380
and adding
Picture related
Fantômas
Tomahawk
Zu
and Cardiacs are more prog, but I'd think a Bungle fan would enjoy them
Blotted Science/Spastic Ink.
Psyopus and Dillinger Escape Plan
>>73182962
>>73183093
How are any of these Bungle ish?
>>73183244
Dillinger Escape Plan has that same diversity and disjointed songwriting on Ire Works, Dissociation, and to an extent, Option Paralysis
>>73181004
FSE needed money for a tour bus last time I checked.
>>73183865
they're doing a kickstarter, yeah, but I think it was for SGM not FSE
More prog-oriented than Bungle, but god damn this album is fantastic.
>>73183877
Nah, it's FSE.
SGM reunion would be cool, but there hasn't even been a proper Undestroyed tour yet.
>>73183923
Weird, maybe it was just Carla posting but I remember them talking about being able to finish/release the last SGM material if they got enough.
I'd really like them to re-issue all the Idiot Flesh stuff, too. The prices on them, especially Fancy, are ridiculous.
>>73183968
I think they reissued Of Natural History recently.
And yeah, Fancy has expensive die cut packaging.
>>73184013
Well there's a few versions, including one that has, apparently, some kind of metal casing. But yeah, they're all rare and expensive as fuck.
Plus Tales Of... is LP only still.
>>73183911
looks like cd-rom software, like a multi media editor for kids. ill check it out
Thoughts on Umlaut?
where does this fall under the Bungle Spectrum?
>>73179176
>Albums you can tell are going to be terrible just from their album art
>>73184237
Desert Search for Techno Allah.
>>73184289
Best song on Disco Volante hands up
>>73182791
Please do! Had trouble finding that for a long time.
>>73184223
Literally Mr. Bungle: The Spin-Off
>>73184268
what are you talking about? California's album art is great
>>73184331
That a bad thing?
>>73184338
looks a GTA5 dlc. Name is bad too. Mr Bungle?
What's some Bunglecore that plays more with surf rock? I know Estradasphere does it a bit in their albums. What else?
>>73184237
is this album actually good or just a meme? apparently it was made by 4chan users or something
>>73184375
Secret Chiefs 3, but not consistently.
>>73184353
No, but it kind of dilutes the thing, since it's almost identical, and therefore lacks a sense of originality.
It is still an 8/10.
>>73180380
this is a very good album
