It used to be only cool people knew about some really good music; now only the least cool people know about the same bands.
Take Unwound for example. It used to be, in the 90s and 2000s, if you knew about Unwound you were a certified underground kid and really knew about music and the scene. Know only internet dipshits know about Unwound. My record store got Fake Train back in February, I went in today and they still had it. Probably if I hadn't bought it it would still be up on the shelf in another 4 months. Why? Because it's a basement punk record store, and real people go there. I'm the retard who drives in from the country and buys reissues of stuff he found on the computer.
