No, in retrospect the 2000's were okay, not the best, still had the musical variety and diversity, r&b, rock, pop, rap, metal, punk.etc.

The teens are when everything got consolidated, bland, whittled down to only pop or pop rap, and occasionally *throws up, pop country.

I think the rise of poptamism is what really did music in, it was the embrace of mediocrity.

EDM's popularity didnt help electronic music or pop, but it made a lot of assholes rich.
