He put out some decent material and a lot of lousy material as well. Nothing he did ever came close to Trout Mask or Decals, though. Still, he put up the money for those albums, which is important.

imo a lot of his stuff sounds like he's just trying his own version of psychedelic rock, but he's never actually tried a psychedelic so he falls short on achieving the sound and it's just souless
