How serious are you about making it?

I'm serious about making quality music, but I don't really care about getting famous or recognition.

Ay, respect. don't know your position, but getting paid does start being a bigger priority getting older, if only to get out of the 9-5 trap because it's way harder to find free time for making quality stuff when the majority of your weekdays goes to some company or business or whatever then freetime goes to relationships or errands or kids and all those gay things. some people can do it, but I personally have lots of weakness will-free genes

I literally spend all of my free time either listening to music, practicing making music, or learning about music production. I don't have friends anymore either.

it's a hobby. i'm taking my time learning music theory and i want to make interesting music, but i don't ever hope to be able to make any money out of it

i have a girlfriend and think about dumping her everyday just so i can have more time to make music.
good thing im getting laid off tomorrow tho, that will free up alot of time until i have to work again

I can envision what I want to make, but I just can't bring it into reality

I write down riffs / melodies / lyrics and think they're top shit, then after a week I realize how subpar it is

I'm not good at writing music, but it's the only thing I can motivate myself to do; I never finish writing anything though because of the above.

One piece of obvious advice is to play whenever you can. Don't fall into the trap of thinking your natural talent or a groupmember's natural talent will make it work out on its own. It won't and you're probably seriously overestimating your talent or ability to accurately spot talent to begin with. Accept the struggle to free yourself.
