What is his best and what is his worst album?
I like "Heroes" and Hunky Dory.
His 60s stuff is kind of annoying.

Well except Heroes, "Heroes" isn't that good.
Heathen > "Heroes"
>>73133941
I didn't get what was so great about "Heroes" for a long time until it finally clicked with me, but some time when you're feeling really patient I recommend listening to it. People talk about it like it's "interesting" in an intellectual/experimental way, but I actually find it really powerful on a simple emotional level, and I'm talking about the whole thing, not just the title track. I'd actually say it's more emotionally engaging than Unknown Pleasures, which is sort of a comparable album.
>>73133962
scary monsters is fuckin great aside from 1 or 2 songs
>>73133731
if they could be one album?
>>73134007
I disagree. Try it again.
>>73134038
Well what songs do you like on "Heroes"?
Would be interesting maybe I didn't listened to it enough or didn't get it.
>>73134038
"Heroes" > Heathen
how's that?
>>73134054
Once again please.
>>73134049
I just wrote >>73134021
But yeah, I didn't get it at first either and I had the same reaction. I thought it was some unengaging stuff, with a great single. Then I listened to it for some reason when I was feeling particularly receptive, and now it's his most powerful album for me. I guess that's my take - I recommend trying the whole album when you're feeling open, and not rushed at all.

>>73134066
lol I was actually disagreeing with the other part of the post
Best: Ziggy Stardust
Worst: Never Let Me Down
Heroes by far has the best cover, though. Thin White Duke was his best persona.

>>73134021
I've already listened to it 15 times.
I never even said it was bad. I like it. People just blow the quality out of proportion when it sure as hell isn't his "best album ever" from him.
>>73134385
his from him
Best keeps changing for me but worst if definitely tied between S/T and Never Let Me Down.
>>73133962
>Worst: Scary Monsters and Super Creeps
Oh c'mon, it's his best 80s album and last great one up until 1.Outside
>>73133786
This is the worst opinon I've ever heard of. There was one guy that said he though Heathens was the best Bowie album though
>>73134580
The next great Bowie album after Scary Monsters is Buddha of Suburbia. 9/10. Patrician as fuck.
>>73134732
I never really got into Buddha, specially when my fav track of it is on 1.Outside too.
>>73134821
And I've never listened to Outside all the way through.... I'll give it another shot.
From Buddha, check the tracks The Mysteries, Untitled No. 1 and Ian Fish U.K Heir.
Best: Ziggy Stardust
Worst: Reality (Not just because of the album cover)
Underrated: Let's Dance
Overrated: Hunky Dory (I love it but it's not too 5 in my opinion)

>>73135014
no "Heroes" is the only album with the "s.
you can't just be putting "s on all of his albums you loonatic.
>>73134858
Do it, I know it's long and some tracks are hard to go through but it's rewarding. The plot behind the album is p good too, I posted the booklet scans on a Bowie thread weeks ago but I'm not sure if they're in the archive anymore since that breakdown.

There's no way Heathen is worse than Let's Dance and TND.
