She's not mainstream, but also not obscure.

Imo It's looking pretty certain that Lorde is never going to be able to top her (stellar) debut. Which is ultimately going to leave her a one/two hit wonder.

Every one of Grimes' major releases has so far managed to incrementally top it's predecessor - both in terms of critical acclaim and commercial success. Unless she suddenly decides to stop making music, there's no reason to think that that pattern isn't going to continue. She's a slow burn.
