>LOL
glad you clarified that was a joke, you'd have shit taste otherwise
I wonder if the mono version that's in the 50th anniversary box set got the same treatment as the stereo version.

Has there been a thread about the feminist writer calling this album the start of geeky toxic male pop music, or something like that? I didn't read it, but the concept was pretty funny.
Come to think of it, it seems pretty outdated, now that England is becoming an Islamic country and kids can't recognize or name any of the beatles. Ramadan is the flavour of the month, not retrospectives on your parents favourite pop albums. There's also the "white male" aspect which is working against them in the current climate.
I'd love to know what the average Ariana Grande fan thinks of Lovely Rita or When I'm 64. The answer to that one question will tell you about the legacy of this album, if it has one at all.

I think the Pet Sounds crowd might be right on this one. That album also debunks the notion that Sgt Pepper was the first album that turned pop music into a 'serious' art (is that the claim?), or anything besides a collection of songs thrown together. It wasn't even the first Beatles album that did that.

Wait, what are you talking about? I've never heard about this article before; can you give me a link to it?
