Why do people put TMS and Ex on this pedestal? They were good for bringing the pop song structure to noise rap but everything post-GP has been so much more interesting structurally and with sampling.

Notm is their best work imo. Super interesting change in direction with the more upbeat sound and the awesome use of bjork's voice. The song structures have a lot more change-ups and surprises than the verse-chorus-verse structure almost every song on exmil and TMS has.

I didn't think NoTM was that good, especially compared with JD. It has some really good tracks (Have a Sad Cum, Up My Sleeves, Say Hey Kid) but overall as an album I don't think it is cohesive as the others. I don't dislike it by any means, that being said. To me, it's just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. Which is admirable in its own way.
