Underrated edition
What have you been listening to lately and how is it?
What jazz albums do you think are the most underrated?
We need to keep this general going.
Haven't listened to jazz in a few months. Last thing I listened to was Bird & Diz. Love listening to it from time to time. A masterpiece.

A modern release I've been enjoying is Stretch Music by Christian Scott. Its got some great yazz flute and uses sequenced drum patterns at time which I like. Other than that I'm trying to get into Sun Ra. I think the Vijay Iyer trio is pretty underrated on here.
The /jazz/ general should have a copypasta with mega links like the /classical/ general does. With downloads for suggested listening and links to review pages and written resources and things.
I'd do it myself but mega hardly ever works on my computer.
Been enjoying this, pretty fresh take on seemingly traditional bebop with intermittent breaks of electric noise. Would love to know anything similar that uses electroacoustic in this way.

good rec, I'm listening to this now. Reminds me of Mouse on the Keys.

>and uses sequenced drum patterns
I've never heard sequenced drums used well in jazz. Christian Scott's Tiny Desk concert was great but this album was a big disappointment.

Maybe "sequenced" is the wrong word. I think the drumming on the opening track works really well. Also, isn't his tiny desk concert all songs from this album? Its been a while since I've watched it.

Anybody heard of this group before? Really good free jazz in the same style as Ornette Coleman

Thanks to whoever recommended Miguel Zenon- Tipico in the thread last night. It's great.
