Liked a couple of songs on the album, but the rest was trash. Definitely wasn't up to Gorillaz standard.

Yeah the first 3 gorillaz records are still some of my favorite albums ever and this was a big disappointment for me.

Not one song reached the heights of the explosive singles the band had before, there was no feel good Inc/Clint Eastwood/melancholy hill moment.

I liked Ascension and a lot of the songs, but as a whole this thing was not up to the consistency of character and theming the other gorillaz records had.

The shittiness of contemporary hip hop really dragged it down. It was way over produced. It sounded way too clean and over dubbed and pitch corrected.

Though I liked a lot of the remixed albums like space monkey and d-sides a lot more than some of the albums. I actually liked " The fall" more than "Humanz".

True. it's the house music that drags the album down making it feel very disjointed. Humanz is also well less cinematic than demon days or plastic beach. There's no story. It just feels like somebody' mix cd. It much less ambitious I feel.

Some of the songs were okay, I enjoyed Charger and a few others. But overall, it's not good.

I'm listening to the bonus tracks on the deluxe (got it from the library today). It's meme terrible. Called circle of friends. Horrible and bad. I call it horribad.

Honestly it's a solid 8 out of 10 for me

I really like Saturnz Barz, Busted and Blue & She's My Collar. Else than that, nah.

The guests and dance vibe really drag down the album. It's great until Carnival, but after that the lack of slow songs (save Busted and Blue, which is probably the best song on the album) and the absence of 2D/overuse of guests drag down the album. Speaking of guests, a lot of them gave subpar performances or weren't right for the track.

Danny Brown's verse is filler, which is a complete letdown coming from him of all people.

Sex Murder Party should have never gotten past the studio.

Jehnny Beth's punk-inclined voice doesn't fit at all on We Got The Power.

Busted and Blue being the only 2D song that actually has him sing a verse is a just a reminder of what could have been.

The charismatic genre subverting Gorillaz disappeared for this record. Where you could go from a folksy story tune to a jubilant gospel song, now they simply switched between different electronic sounds. Instead of being an entertaining experience front to back, the only way I can enjoy Humanz is picking out a couple tracks that were good.

i genuinely like this album its obviously not self titled or demon days or plastic beach but i still enjoy it its a new gorillaz album not self titled 2 or demon days 2 like people wanted it to be it seems i dont think thats bad though if they made it exactly like those albums people would be like "wow gorillaz is to repetitive"

Yeah, I guess it was less diverse than their other albums, but it wasn't meant to be.

Humanz is the 2017 equivalent to The Life of Pablo - a completely mess of an album that feels more like a mixtape than anything else, albeit with a handful of god-tier highlights.

The difference being that Kanye has released several excellent hip-hop records meanwhile the best Gorillaz album before this was merely good. Humanz is easily their best album.

Seriously, Demon Days is so fucking boring outside of the singles. Like, why would i ever wanna listen to anything but Dare or Feel Good Inc on that album? Similarly, the worst songs on Humanz sound like those forgettable tracks from Demon Days. (Charger, Busted and Blue) Humanz also succeeds because like 60% of the album including the bonus tracks either are or could be singles.

It's a solid 7, at least.

i have almost every Gorillaz album (G-sides suck and i ain't gonna buy it) and i can say Humanz it's a 6/10 album, maybe a 7/10

i don't care about the lyrics bc im mexican and i cant understand fast english but if it sounds good then the sound is good for me, like Ascension, a few good songs but the rest is shit

i'm still waiting for the vinyl to come out with 14 (i think) new songs

yes. every song is good (though sex murder party is a little bland) and the features all elevate their songs.

Definitely like it much more than Plastic Beach. Only song that really misses on this album for me is Sex Murder Party which kinds of falls flat and doesn't go anywhere melodically. Song had plenty of great tracks though: Ascension, Saturnz Barz, Submission (Fav of the whole album), Busted and Blue, Hallelujah Money, etc. It feels like people became fans of the Gorillaz on Demon Days and are still pissy that they never returned to that sound.

It was horrible and the first track is a ear sore. The only good songs were with Damon.

It's about an End-of-The-World Party and it does this concept poorly. I was just writing a story-like theme for the custom track list I made. S/T has some nice tracks and it makes me mad they don't use the character voices (such as Noodle) much in the albums proceeding after S/T

Album was a huge disappointment to me. I was going into the listening experience with an open mind and very few preconceived ideas yet the entire album was a complete chore to listen to. Most of the music felt clunky- the guest spots were underwhelming. Despite several repeat listens and the tracklisting being 20 songs long (or 24 if you count the bonus tracks) there are only 4 songs I would choose to listen to again and 3 of them were released before the album dropped.

I do feel as though there was a general negative consensus about this album but it's for pretty obvious reasons: annoying production, weak hooks, forgetful or even pointless songs, and a super bloated tracklist.

Certainly a big disappointment, I expected more musicvideos and the tracks are mediocre at best.
