Astral Weeks. Also Moondance and Veedon Fleece are decent.

But Van Morrison's discography is very frustrating because in the 50 years it spans he doesn't even come close to creating something as magical as Astral Weeks again.

Moondance is great. His debut with Them is very good, and incredibly underrated--but it's easy to live in the shadow of Gloria.

People really like Astral Weeks and St Dominic's Preview a lot.

Depends on what you mean by "better". I think he plays it quite safe on that album. Albums like Veedon Fleece and Common One are more exciting imo.
