I don't think I've ever wanted to like a band so bad only to be so disappointed.

Their music is just way too generic, too soft, too forgettable. Great band name, some really good album covers, but the music just doesn't back it up.

I obsessively listened to Nonagon Infinity on repeat for a week. The new album is amazing as well.

There are several songs that I really enjoy parts of but i'm in the same boat w/ ya. I saw them with Mild High Club and some other jangly pop band and it was alright but nothing super memorable.

No but they are pretty great. Mind Fuzz, Nonagon, and MOTU are all excellent albums. There are some great moments on their other albums too, but their songwriting isn't that flexible and sometimes they write streaks of total dud tracks. I'm glad they exist and are making really interesting and creative rock music but they aren't as groundbreaking as most people would lead you to believe.
