He's right on this. It's amazing to me that an "experimental" album comes off as pretty boring and uninteresting.

eh it's at least a light 7 for me
I like it, it's cool and some of the tracks are really good. It's lack luster in some, but he really shows his true potential on songs like powerful man.
/mu/ are so on melonhead's dick
most were loving this album till he came out and took a shit on it
pathetic bunch of beta conservicucks
I know this is a cliche thing to say but I feel like he didn't give it enough of a chance, and I say this because his biggest complaints he has are that it feels disjointed, under-written, not cohesive, has abrupt song endings, experimentation that doesn't go anywhere etc. but I think this isn't the kind of album where you listen once or twice and get the kind of "fully cooked" singer songwriter experience that Fantano seemed to expect.
I feel like this album is the kind where it's like, you get these short bursts of varied creativity for the whole thing, it's not meant to be some really grandiose emotional kind of thing, it's just meant to be interesting and unpredictable and fast-paced. Fantano kinda missed the point, I feel like he listened to it expecting some kind of Sun Kil Moon or Sufjan Stevens type of thing just because it's technically a "singer-songwriter" album.
