I though people were over trying to make "lo-fi indie" a genre, it's just a way of producing/recording an album.

Unless you want to make a lo-fi music (in general, based on recording aspects) chart.

>literally all shitty pop and hi-fi albums
what?
>>
>>72981494
>ITAOTS
>Lo-Fi
do you even know what that means

Hi How Are You is only considered his essential album because of the cover. Yip/Jump Music and Don't Be Scared are much better.

>>72981518
Indie is a pretty meaningless label at this point
>>
Early Ariel pink
Early James ferraro
I would say exclude anything released post 2010, just because how oversaturated "lofi" has become.

and London Calling has been classified as a punk album ever since its release. Doesn't make it true. It has low-fi influences, and somewhat of a connection with the genre, but the album itself isn't lo-fi.

Archers of loaf first or second record
>>
Great start, save for The Glow Pt. 2 which has never struck me as a lo-fi record because of it's high sound quality and the fact that it was done in a studio with professional equipment. Outdated equipment for sure but the end product of the record is very listenable to me. Distortion =/= lo-fi.

Anyways, I recommend
>Instrumentals by Arthur Russell
an unfinished never fully realized set of rehearsal tapes for an incredible multi-genre classical piece that Arthur wrote and performed in. The entire performance was supposed to be much longer but alas all we have is a fraction of some incredible music from the sessions

>Paul McCartney's solo debut
Yeah it's dad rock but it's without a doubt a lo-fi album. Paul sat down with a four track and busted out some great pop tunes with a lot of character

>The Glad Fact by Dirty Projectors
The first album of an ever changing wild group that just features David alone. Even on this album David conjured up many creative and genre bending songs with incredible free wielding vocal performances. It's a very lo fi album but the songs are super strong.
