Dad Rock
>this "dadrock" meme
My Generation isn't even "dadrock" you retard. It's Proto-Punk/Mod
When will this meme die?
But The Who is great.
I listen to a lot of juvenile stuff, but her discography is the only thing that I can think as "real" guilty pleasure.

The Who are an English rock band that formed in 1964. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist and singer Pete Townshend, bass guitarist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide and holding a reputation for their live shows and studio work.

Those are legitimate terms to use when reflecting on the history of popular music. Dadrock is not.
Proto-punk means a sort of raw, ramshackle DIY energy that predates Punk rock. The Who were that to a tee.
Mod is a 60s fashion style that revolved almost exclusively around the rock 'n roll scene of the early 1960s, specifically in England. The had bowl cuts/bobs and wore preppy clothing almost ironically (esp. when contrasted with their raw musical energy and newfound obsession with sex).
Dadrock just means what, that it's old enough to have been listened to by your dad?
You're saying absolutely nothing about the content whatsover.
There are bands that I consider 'dadrock' because the music sounds so unbelievably dated that it's hard to believe our dads actual tolerated it, let alone spent their savings on records and concerts. The Who are not one of those bands, though you could argue that the "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Who Are" type grandiose material does seem to take itself a bit too seriously. Their earlier stuff was much looser and youthful sounding, which is what rock 'n roll is all about.
