Why did Frank Zappa's music take such an epic shit? His early work with the Mothers was great, and then he went solo and put out funny, compelling, and clever music until he started to peter out in the mid-70s.
Then it's just a mix of bad comedy rock, side-experiments, and then the last stage of his career in full-jerkoff mode.
What happened to Hot Rats Zappa? It's like he evolved backwards for a twenty year stretch.
Imo he made 2 masterpieces and 5 excellent ones. I would say he has done more than most with that alone

He did it out of spite to the jews.
>>72951250
And they are?
I personally would call both Hot Rats and Absolutely Free masterpieces.
Then I would say that Apostrophe, Freak Out!, and Over-nite Sensation are all very good.
Frank never released a bad studio album whilst alive.
>>72951149
Frank's synclavier albums are better than his rock albums you pleb.
>>72951329
Freak Out! and We're Only In It For The Money are also masterpieces.
>>72951149
honestly all of the live albums released posthumously redeem a lot of the pop-fusion late-career stuff, which has its own appeal as well. If he did doo-wop stuff his whole life then it would be even more purile
Part of his appeal is that his corpus is diverse

This and Dumb All Over are the some of the best Zappa songs.
Religiousfags BTFO.
How come his kids are all such idiots?

>How come his kids are all such idiots?
Because their greedy mom raised them, except Dweezil, he's okay.

Just listen to this. He was a true genius and a man with an open, clear mind. Even though he was sarcastic and misanthropic, everything he said in this video actually happened.
>>72952777
I probably know this already because I've listened to virtually all of his interviews and his music.
He didn't like lefties, but absolutely HATED Republicans, and the music industry, which was just a means of exploiting dumb trends.

This is literal intellectual rape on live television.

This is when Zappa absolutely obliterated everyone who opposed him.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

this. "watermelon in eastern hay" is his masterpiece. a rare occasion where frank actually shows emotion in his music
>>72953183
I don't need to, but I will. The Stones were so fucking debased, they were the essence of Rock & Roll. She's citing random Stones lyrics and thinking they were more subtle than 80s metal bands, they weren't, they were more ill-behaved than Zeppelin, can't imagine what SJWs would think of this shit these days, they're equally puritanical.

This, best guitar solo ever. Anyone that doubts Frank should listen to it.

I saw Dweezil in concert, he lives up to his father's name. His relatives are vultures.

Joe's Garage is a masterpiece, as is You Are What You Is. Sheik Yerbouti and Them or Us are both decent albums with some stand-outs.
Here's a god-tier 80s cut:
