Why don't you guys talk about me anymore :(
i'm surprised that album is talked about as much as it is. don't get me wrong, it's good, but comus don't really have much of a legacy. their only other album was mediocre and they weren't really influential. there's not much to talk about.
it gets posted often but discussed very little. I was in a thread about it yesterday, one of my favorite albums desu

>They weren't really influential
What
>>72942096
who has ever listed Comus as an influence? I don't think anyone really has
>>72942129
Opeth but that's all I can think of
>>72942129
Animal Collective's acoustic stuff seems to have been prominently influenced by them, but they never directly cited them
>>72942129
Are you kidding? Comus were a huge influence on Current 93 and the entire neofolk scene in general

link pls
>>72942456

>>72942129
basically every freak folk band
more bands should pay attention this this, not many bands have pulled off the comus brand of freak folk
>>72942754
So not influential at all then

The entire album is incredible but The Herald is an absolute masterpiece. I wish they created more great music like this. The B-sides or whatever they were are great too, In The Lost Queen's Eyes and Winter Is a Coloured Bird.

The thread, sounds interesting.
>>72943426
it was pretty short, it's archived if you wanna look for it but there's not really a point
>>72941733

freak folk is not a genre
>>72943580
AHAHAHAHA

Is Montie behind all of this? Apart from creating an "identity" for himself on an anonymous image board, he's trying to dictate musical taste. It's beyond pathetic really. I just hope no one takes him or charts like these seriously.

Someone posted it in a prog thread about a month ago and I listened to it. It's really fucking good, not much else to say I guess.
