this album will still be discussed in 100 years

should i check this if i liked yeezus?

Check it out because it's an interesting, uncompromising piece of music. For no other reason, and don't approach it with anything else in mind. A central theme is uncertainty.
It took about 5 listens before I really "got it".
>it might be over soon
>>72927535
Oh and with all my bullshit preconceptions I sort of wanted to hate it even though I enjoyed every listen... truly challenging but rewarding.
The lyrics are pretty surreal and mystical, full of frustration and internal conflict...

Preordered it on vinyl when I heard some of the singles before it dropped. It's got some really interesting passages throughout it, but goddamn you have to wonder what he was thinking on the mixing. It's earsplitting at some points.

That lyric really could mean quite a bit, my theory is that he wasn't sure what he was doing with the project and thought basically it's sink or swim at this point.
That's if in 100 years banging on rocks will have a rebirth.

it's not supposed to be a clean record, it surprises you, it challenges you, it breaks away from your expectation.
It sort of finds those joints and pressure points and applies full force.
>>72927590
The songs are well written, check out the lyrics, if anything

What are you talking about? Age of Adz does the same things but better and came out over half a decade earlier.
>>72927632
This. It's so tame compared to The Age of Adz.
>>72927661
>>72927632
>there's another album that has similarities to this one so that means this album is not good
>>72927661
tame =/= good or bad
>>72927601
Challenging music twists and turns through how it adds variation to the melodies and song structures (which the album does). There isn't anything intellectually challenging by adding fuck your ears resonate peaks on saxophone leads and vocoder lines.

Well yeah lyrics are about the only thing that makes the album. His mixing and and instrumental however, is the music equivalent of how gallagar is to comedy.
