Can we talk about this band? It's rarely discussed on /mu/ and it has such diverse catalogue and good records. Mark E. Smith was a genius.
Listened to this for the first time this week and I have to admit I was pretty blown away
Where do I go after this?

Start from the beginning with live at the witch trials

He's extremely underrated as a lyricist
>Where are the obligatory niggers?
>Hey there fuckface!
>Hey there fuckface!
Really makes me think...
Seriously though I love the Fall and interviews with Mark are usually hilarious.

I don't really know what people see in them. They're fine but there's a bunch of other post-punk bands I'd rather listen to.
>>72914918
What have you listened to from the fall? I don't see any other post-punk bands that sound like early the fall. Personally it's the lyrics that I love

such as?

>underrated as a lyricist
totally agree with you.
>>72914607
I started with them chronologically. Their debut is pretty solid

Only Hex Enduction Hour. Like I said it was pleasant enough while I was listening to it but not something I'd ever deliberately listen to, on a regular basis at least.

Pere Ubu
Wire
PiL
This Heat
Chrome
Swell Maps
The list goes on...
>>72915226
Why did you just post entry level post punk bands that sound nothing like the fall?
>>72915283
Because the poster I was responding to asked what post-punk bands I prefer over The Fall?
>>72914219
I like them but I haven't listened to much outside of their 80s stuff. Seeing them next week with Swans and Not This Heat which should be good. Also Mark E Smith's book is pretty great.

Id love to see that gig in Manchester but I've got exams (I'm 18 before anyone says underage)
>>72915485
It's a great lineup but I still fear it'll be shit because Victoria Warehouse is the worst venue in the world.
>>72915538
I've been there once before and it was good. Why is Victoria warehouse bad?
>>72915581
Saw John Carpenter there last year and it was oversold to shit. Couldn't see or hear anything and there was zero atmosphere. To keep it related to the thread, I saw Mark E Smith there, he's really short.
>>72915283
The guy didn't ask for bands that sounds like The Fall.. Clearly he was listing sounds he prefers.
