Soundtracks For The Blind is long winded when you count all the filler/interludes. If they cut it down to the length of the Great Annihilator or about 15 minutes more with only the most essential songs (Helpless Child, The Sound, Empathy, etc.), it'd be the best Swans album by far.

Agreed. I don't think Cop is Swans's best album but it's VASTLY underrated and is probably the best pre-CoG studio album

The best stuff is Swans are Dead, and Public Castration.
The Seer is their best studio album.

public castration abandons the sound that makes Holy Money so good. It's certainly not better. The last four songs are incredible in that context, but I don't think the first four translate well at all.
All of the Jarboe songs on Swans Are Dead just kill the album for me, otherwise I would believe it to be the best thing they've ever made.
