The new material on this CD is really, really starting to show how thin he's spreading this style of sound for the band. I just cannot do this anymore, he's taken it as far as it can go, and it now just feels like repeating the same mantras over and over and over agan, these new songs offer up nothing new whatsoever. They're not good. That's not to say they don't have merit as live songs when you're actually there, but to bring this into the studio would be a mistake.

So it makes me glad knowing these songs are live only, as Gira said in his post on younggodrecords, he needs to move on from this into new ground.

Yeah, that's why the latest tour was a little weaker compared to the previous ones. The highlights were the old songs, especially Screenshot. But Gira is a smart man and knows not to repeat himself so I'm very excited about the future of this band.
