The bassline in Lowrell Simon's 'Mellow Mellow' is lackluster in the original, imo, but man, it defines Massive Attack's 'Lately.'
I can't remember any others offhand, but I've noticed a lot of sampled basslines that are kinda whatever in their original recording, but someone uses it in a remix or whatever and it's totally transformed.
