Some of my favorite albums
>>72854481
I'd love to support this chart, but there are so many additions that need to be made
>>72854481
And eww dude, The Cars' worst album other than Door To Door. Really?
>>72855303
any suggestions?
>>72855331
It's the only other Cars album I really listen to, apart from their greatest hits
>>72855703
Fix the spelling on "The Plimsouls".
>Add
Badfinger - No Dice
Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
The Beat - The Beat
The Replacements - Let It Be
Marshall Crenshaw - Field Day
Dwight Twilley Band - Sincerely
among others... I know there are more essentials. I need to get off my break now

Any albums by The Who. You might as well add a bunch of Beatles albums if youre going to keep The Who in there. The definition of Power Pop, much like "heavy metal", has changed since the 60s. You don't see Steppenwolf (the band that coined the phrase) included in Metal charts, right?
Exchange Heartbeat City by the Cars with their debut or Candy-O
>>72854481
>No Argybargy
Truly the best power pop album
>>72855982
more "New Wave", no?
>>72855999
Maybe, I guess I hadn't thought about it, but I tend to think of them as power pop
>>72856064
Either way, I love that album. I think that the New Wave/Power Pop distiction is the hardest one to make. The Cars, Blondie, and Squeeze are solid crossovers from both.
Are my /Cheap Trick/ niggas lurking?
>>72855703
He's full of shit, the Cars' debut is fucking outstanding.
>>72856697
Just realized that Heartbeat City is in there. Yeah, take that off.
>>72855945
Debut is the first record on the chart mate
>>72856716
lol, I'm already drinking. Put Candy-O up in there, not Heartbeat Shitty
>>72856629
here I am my dude
>>72853332
i only know this one because of guardians of the galaxy ngl

>>72856629
Can I be among you /Trick/ nigs?
Is this power pop?
>>72858494
New Wave. Too pop, not enough power
>>72854481
How this isn't on the list is simply beyond comprehension.
Add the greatest Powerpop album of the 00's.
>>72859490
I love that album, but idk
>>72859535
The Pink Spiders for moms.
>>72859548
I got a shirt, poster, and a bunch of bumper stickers from those nigs. I bought them drinks and they played songs I wanted to hear. It was dope. I jumped on stage for the last song drunk as fuck.
That being said, Fountains of Wayne are way better than the Pink Spiders.
>>72859731
What are some good new Powerpop bands out right now you can recommend?
What's essential 70s power pop besides the big 3 (Big Star, Badfinger, Cheap Trick)?
>>72859777
Weezer lol... Not a lot. Desaparecidos - Payola is pretty cool, and so was The Rentals' latest album. If you want like lame garbage like The Biters, there's them too. They're got 1 or 2 good songs, but they're cringy.
>>72859777
oh and Ben Kweller - Go Fly a Kite... And this is "new" as in within the last 5 years
I've heard this described as power pop, is it?

Raspberries, Shoes, The Nerves
>>72860064
I'd say so
