I was hoping for the same. I actually thought King Animal was quitesolid though. My biggest issue being a few filler tracks (the opening song was weak as hell for instance) and Chris' declining vocal quality. But songs like Bones of Birds, By Crooked Steps and Blood on the Valley Floor were great. Sounded like a natural progression from Down on the Upside in a lot of ways.

Every morning when I wake up I turn my radio on. The very first thing I heard from it was "chris cornell dead at 52"

I was literally obsessed with CC's music in my high school years. There were a couple years there where I legitimately didn't listen to anything other than Soundgarden/Audioslave/TOTD/Cornell solo stuff.

I'm just glad I got to see him live once. It was at Red Rocks during the first Soundgarden reunion tour. I'll always remember that as being the loudest show I've ever seen (from a pure volume standpoint). My ears were still ringing like three days later.
