Friendly reminder house, techno and breaks are as old, varied and expansive independent genres in their own rights as punk, metal and hip hop.

Thanks for the reminder friendo
You're simply wrong, especially about punk and metal being varied or expansive. Both suck dick. Techno is pretty monotonous. But house and hip hop, yea. Neither can get old.

in a way you are right but you make it sound very bad. I think you have only heard techno on surface like only the popular ones and not tried to explore much into it's sub genres and underground tech. Then I can understand how it felt fucking boring to you, because yeah most techno can be monotonous in terms of arrangement, but 'good' techno for me is that progresses in the way the textures and the atmosphere evolves. It's similar to trance. It's purpose is to convincingly put you into a certain head space. Try listening to this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va4OyeQHbr8&list=PLK1Es0W0svA22hCFfTcohBK5W4ZtxoKjG . This album is very repetitive but maybe you could see why it is interesting.
