>am a performing classical guitarist
>just graduated college on Sunday
>fucking exhausted
>need to find a job
>extremely rich popular kid asked if I would perform for his event
>wants me to play jazz
>event is in 2 weeks
>would need to practice 4 hours per day every day for the next 2 weeks to do it
>party will have a lot of other rich kids and hot women
>really really fucking exhausted from finishing the semester and just want to look for work
>don't want to pass up a good opportunity though
What would you do? Is practicing 4 hours per day for 2 weeks straight worth playing for a rich/popular person's event?

Of course it's worth practicing, do it.
yes if you enjoy playing music, not to mention this could help open up other doors so you can get paid for playing music

I wouldn't take a job that's two weeks out unless I had the repertoire learned already.
Played a wedding last December in the fucking cold, but I had 6 months notice. I probably pissed away 3 of those months before I got to work on the music.
Had about 12 pieces prepared and only used 5.
How much time do you need to fill?
When you say jazz, what are they talking about?
Since Jazz is contemporary and most of its works aren't in public domain, it can be expensive/difficult to find sheet music for unless they only expect you to play fake book material and have other instruments to accompany.
Of course you do it.
a) You can be tired when you're old or dead.
b) You're almost guaranteed to get laid at this thing.
>just want to look for work
>person is offering you work in your field
do you want it or not mate
On one hand, it seems like a good opportunity and if you genuinely enjoy playing music it shouldn't be too bad. On the other hand, two weeks notice is rough.
