What is the best Frank Zappa album? Ive just recently gotten into him and can see he has a very large selection.
Depends on what you're into honestly. My personal favorites are You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore vol. 2 and Joe's Garage.
just listen to the Mothers up to 1970
Uncle Meat
his first and second albums are great because he still sort of had the blues influence in him as well as his blatant political statements

My personal favorites are We're Only In It For The Money, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, and Lumpy Gravy.

One Size Fits All.

This and Over Nite Sensation
Also with the Mothers: Freak Out! and We're Only in it for the Money
I'm hard pressed to think of any of it that is bad. But Those are the stand out releases in my opinion.
