it seems like /mu/ only keeps talking about this is because they like seeing an act they hated anyway crash and burn(although personally I don't like them either.)

I find it funny that much better(in every aspect) and more groundbreaking gay musicians of the past mostly refused to be pigeon holed as "gay music" because their music had greater scope and resonance(even songs with gay themes) while also standing on their own merit as songs

conversely PWR BTTM's gimmick is the only thing giving them a leg up on any other indie band with a jaguar/jazzmaster and so-so songwriting
