anyone have recs for recent industrial, bands active in the last five years or so? been getting really into 80s-90s industrial recently but having a hard time finding current bands doing new things with that sound

Some people say SPK's Leichenshrei was the peak industrial, but pointing at something and saying "that's the peak" just limits the parameters of what a genre could be/is. There is so much amazing music that came after TG, I feel it is unfair to call that the peak performance. Especially given Reznor's success, or the insanity of a Coil live show, or the consistency of KMFDM over 30+ years.

People who like Coil, TG and SPK identify more with /noise/ i'm afraid, so the peaks of the genre (for these people and me personally) would never be something like KMFDM, even though I like them a little. Skinny Puppy is way better as a band who fused their sound with electro.

That being said I don't know any of these new guys like >>72782711 posted. To me industrial music is alive in labels like Hospital Productions, Hanson Records, Chondritic Sound, heck, even Posh Isolation who in my opinion remains relevant for making pop flavoured post-industrial that's actually likeable.

Dais Records on the other hand, signed that Youth Code EBM band (that I think is AWFUL) but at the same time re-release classic stuff like Missing Foundation and Maurizio Bianchi.
