Just reading the text sounds really melodramatic, overemphasis for the sake of "woe is me" indulgence.
Though I haven't listened to 21 Pilots that much, so maybe they write very differently. Still, I'm sure it'll sound a lot better in context of the music, as lyrics tend to do.
