I have finally fallen for the flac meme and starting do download music as flacs.
I want to probably reorganize my music in a better way. back in the days I used to do it as genre/artist/album/tracks, but quickly all of the genres started to overlap.
now I'm organizing it like pop_or_non_pop/artist/album/tracks but this again has a lot of problems because there is a shitload of non pop music and it's a big mess inside. furthermore, in this I have no logical place to put compilations/singles.
so how you guys organize your music? any general tips?
I delete all tags except for title, album, artist, album artist, and year. I can't be fucked to figure out the rest.
I try to download album art as 1000x1000 when possible.

and how do you structure your folders

Friendly reminder that listening to FLAC means jack shit if you don't have the correct headphones and external DAC

but I've heard as mp3 is lossy everytime I listen to it the quality slightly degrades

Think that only applies for when u share or burn it...

Digital files don't degrade you doof. Anyway basically if you want the true patrician experience you have to spend a lot of dough, something I'm not prepared to do.

no

my path is
c/music folder/[artist name]/[album name]/[song.mp3]
I use Foobar and have a big panel showing all artists, genres and albums in alphabetical order. I just sort through that, making playlists when needed.

I don't use folders. I just put it all in one folder. The album name is in the file name and in the embedded tags, so I don't really need a folder tree.
