How does /mu/ feel about Cat Stevens?

I quite like a few of his albums.

One of the very best songwriters ever. Poignant stuff. It's weird how this board worships Dylan and Cohen but never gives Cat the time of day

My friend turned me on to this when I was like 12. I think it's underrated, a funny little concept album with great melodies. I also really like Mona Bone Jakon, Buddha, and Teaser. I think The Hurt is his best song.

I prefer musicians who don't condone murdering novelists.

I only really know Moonshadow and not much else. You've convinced me to give him a proper shot /mu/. Listening to Teaser and the Firecat, what a beautiful opening song.

I think it's one of those instances where he was thinking way too hard about it. He's cruel to almost every singer-songwriter of the era except Joni. Like Carly Simon deserves it maybe, but James Taylor is another one who's so useless to hate, I just don't get how he can get so negative on such simple music.
