Just put this out a little over a week ago. The feedback I've received has been super helpful, and it's awesome to see the response it's gotten, largely from here I'm sure. Working on something new, though I doubt it'll even be out till next year. Much more depressive, plenty of blackgaze vibes. Should be fun.

Gonna go ahead and say - if you want feedback, please give feedback. Sadly not much posted so far but I'll rec
>>72728630 for being fantastic

>>72728749
Know you pretty much just drop your shit off and that's it, but I want to give feedback anyways just so I give some in this thread. You have a really nice voice and a great feel for dynamics, this reminds me of Giles Corey for some reason.

...and then track 2's distortion kicks in. Wasn't expecting that at all. Not sure it fits desu, and usually I'd love this sort of thing. It feels like this turned into Moss Icon out of nowhere. And it doesn't fit with any of your other songs.

Still, DL'd.

Will return any feedback received here.

I cannot fathom changing tracklists. I put almost as much thought into the arranging of my album as I do actually making it, because its all one big picture. Suddenly switching it would feel absolutely catastrophic for me.
Haven't been to Lockport, but one of my best friends and former bandmate was from Lemont.
This is awesome, but I feel like its way too much to digest at once. I dug "I Don't Know (Especially Me)"
>>72728663
I dig the potential this has. Not to take out the noise, but having a less phase-y guitar and having a more prominent clean channel could help that cut through.

Oh yeah Nobody hone is absolutely incredible, and i'm put in a real trance listening to it, but that last 5 second sample thing is like a snap of fingers in front of my face to be honest, and i feel pulled out of it after that. It's funny you say that, because I totally put it in there instead of at the beginning of Blow because I wanted it to be a little disorienting. Like coke. Then when the tremelo picking and black metal screams kick in, it's just like a jolt, and well, yeah. The track title's blow, guess it's pretty self explanatory.

And I tried to make a lot of the samples from things I found funny that could be taken in a darker way out of context.

Glad you dug it!

I can't really muster the energy to comment on music that doesn't interest me. Though I get how it's shitty. Thanks for the feedback anyway.

Anyhoo, again, I like what you're doing. If I have any criticism it'd be that I don't really get some of the samples. They kinda take me out of the music. I found that noise in the first minute of choi min-sik action figure annoying as shit, but I'm sure you have a reason for it.

Comments:

>>72729013
This is great and reminds me a little bit of Clarence Clarity in the energy department. I don't love the name very much because it means my mom can't listen to it.

>>72728977
I like your music man. Keep going, I want to see the good places where you end up. You've been a real good dude the last three days on these threads. I love the little details you put in, like at 1:01 on blow where the guitars scream up an octave before coming in with the drums on blast.

I didn't really notice the sample on choi min-sik action figure last time, but holy shit that drove me a little crazy. Maybe that is the point? I can't a lot of people will purposely endure that and I'll probably avoid that part of the song.

>>72729458
Are you saying literally none of the music in this whole thread interests you enough to comment?
I do like you music though, haha.

On Tethers I think it would be useful to have the guitar recorded differently, maybe more in forefront. I felt like your vocals and guitar were kind of just in an empty room by themselves with low quality while the piano, electric guitar, bass harmonica and piano were a far better quality recording and much more clear to hear. Vocals were way more pumped up at the end and sounded better.
>>
>>72730189
Man, you're awesome. You gave me probably the longest critique that anyone has ever given me in one of these threads and then you go and give me even more feedback? Jeez.

All of these songs are really close to my heart, but blow especially, so it's cool earing that. And yeah, that's totally the point of Choi Min-Sik Action Figure, and it's funny the criticism I'm getting about that today because I've gotten a ton of positive feedback on it in other places. Some who even said it's one of their favorite parts, because of the way it meshes with the guitar and how the discordant piano kicks in. It's got the highest full playthrough percentage on bandcamp of any of my tracks right now desu (over 50%). But I'll totally take that into consideration.

To explain that song and the sample without being too personal...picture something that angers you. Intensely. Something that makes your mind go blank. Imagine just giving in to that and the euphoria that follows, the adrenaline of it. Then when it dies down. The haze that you're in afterwards, the clarity, the ringing in your ears, and the realization.

I don't feel like that's something only I've felt, but then again, maybe it is. That's the song, basically. Guilt. A lot of guilt.

Anyways, as I said I was going to, I finished your album. It's probably one of my favorites on here. Everything feels meaningful and emotive. I know I said Momma was my favorite before, but I think Becoming Strangers is my favorite now honestly. The jazzy feel reminds me of drifting into space, wistful thoughts and clenched fists. And man, when the drums kick in. Have you heard the song Space Lion by The Seatbelts? That's what this reminds me of.

But yeah, another slightly pretentious post, there you have it. I like your stuff and thanks for your feedback.

You are wrong, as I know of at least albums (my own, watterson - feel good forever and Red Nevada - An Album for the End of the World. Nobody is upset at you, it would just be nice to have another person contributing.

>>72730746
This is pretty cool stuff, I felt like I was underwater, but floating in the sky for a lot of this. Everything sounds kind of slowed down. I'm wondering why you have the creation date for Israel as one of your song names, it gave me a laugh.

However, I would like to say that I will most likely not be downloading it for $10.

>>72730849
This is good, did you record it all on your own? I think if you had a live band it would increase the quality in a massive way, as playing music like this is incredibly reliant on a group dynamic.

>>
>>72730900
yeah i did it all myself in my dorm-room with only one guitar and microphone, i just dropped the guitar down an octave for bass and used a drum machine and samples for the drum. Adds character i believe, but im teaching a friend of mine bass rn in the hopes we can play live one day.

>>
>>72730925
I'm not sure what a good price is, it depends on what your purpose with your art is and what you expect from your audience. If you're charging $10 I could go and grab a more commercial release from someone I know I love instead of downloading your album for the same price. It's hard to figure out what the best price to charge is, I know that bandcamp has some research they've done on the topic, so maybe read up on that.

Ultimately it is up to you, if you think your music has more worth this way or is deserving of the worth of whatever amount of money you charge I wouldn't change anything at all and function on your own virtues.

Did you just change the name of that song to just "1948" or am I going crazy? I thought the title was good the way it was haha
>>
>>72730999
Haha that's great! I'm glad you had the ambition to do this all on your own.

recs and review:
>>72728630
I can't say much about this yet, but the first track says that you've got it together. Producers could learn from you. Tasteful instrumentation, tasteful synths, tasteful noise, it's just perfect the way it is.
>>72728663
nice stuff
>>72728749
>1st track
This is p. good, but you should step up your production game, because when it's only your voice and your guitar, it can lead your music to be really underwhelming. A good example is ITAOTS, most of the time it's one guitar and Jeff's voice, but it's the production and the huge amount of compression is what makes it so in-your-face.
>2nd track
The way the electric guitars and bass sound, and how the music builds up pretty much makes up for the weak production.
