How can one country be so freakin talented
Memes aside, there is great music here outside of the usual Tame Impala / Violent Soho / King Gizzard / Nick Cave / Avalanches / Smith St Band / JJJ-core shit.
The good stuff is kept in a bubble and sadly doesn't reach far enough.
>>72724359
I was referring to those bands, but what's some good lesser known stuff?
>>72724294
Seriously, is there anything they can't do over there?
>>72724359
Any artist on these labels: chapter music, wondercore island, bedroom suck, sensory projects, moontown records, this thing, nice music, plastic world, paradise daily.
Artists that I'm listening to now: total control, cassius select, lost animal, kane ikin, krakatau, rainbow chan.

>usual Nick Cave shit
end yourself
>>72724628
I like Nick Cave. My point is that those artists are always the only mentions in Aus threads
I like the Stiffys. Their music is p. fun
>>72724499
I'd make a chart for underground Aus stuff, but these threads always die quickly.
>>72724760
Do it anyway
early Regurgitator and Spiderbait are pretty good
>>72724776
Alright I'll do it anyway. Anyone got a link to generate those kinda charts? I can only find personal top 50 kinda stuff.
>>72724813
go on topsters and switch to collage mode on the top of the screen
>>72724779
made me laugh
>>72724830
Gotcha. I'll make a guide to weirder, underground, locally acclaimed electronic stuff in Australia. I've been involved in that "scene" for a while. Will post around in near future
I can give you bunch of punk bands:
The Bennies, Clowns, Dune Rats, Kill DIrty Youth, Cosmic Kahuna, Agent 37, the Shorts, Local Resident Failure, Don Bosco, Batpiss, Private Function.
Other Aussie bands worth checking out
Jarrow, Gooch Palms, the Flying So High-Os, Good Boy, Camp Cope.
Someone is harshing on the Smith Street Band I think? I never got that, they're one of my favourites. Being played on triple J doesn't make an artist shit.
Horsehunter, Motherslug, Child, Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene, Buffalo, Bog
>>72724885
Good list
I meant to say, people bring up those names too much in these threads, when there is so much more to talk about. JJJ-style stuff as a separate thing. Nothing against those bands though
Australian slowcore is literally only rivaled by the OG San Francisco shit, aussies have an ear for slow melodies.
Also I forgot the Cat Empire, Birds of Tokyo, Flour and Keggin's a bit of fun, too.
