It succeeds more as a psychedelic album than it does when it's looked under an avant-garde lens
Not an album per se, but Revolution 9 is probably one of the most important avant-garde compositions ever made

The best Faust album by far. And it's a compilation album for crying out loud, full of songs they never even meant to release. Not to mention that songs flow into each other perfectly. If you were disappointed with Faust, like I was with their studio albums, listen to this and be done with them. It's a shame really for a band not lacking creativity even in their later career.

Definitely. He almost singlehandedly pioneered avant-prog with Uncle Meat.

Look up Faust V, a cassette promo for a fifth album was made before they fell apart and most of the stuff has appeared on what you posted and other compilations but the second to last song is fucking incredible and hadn't ever been released. There's a shitty MP3 rip of it online that is still worth checking out, I think a lot of the songs that reappeared elsewhere on compilations have different mixes on the cassette.
Can't wait for some classy genius to come in and say how stupid everyone is for calling the albums posted avant-garde, as if avant-garde is a highly technical term.

How would one even get this? And given that it's a bootleg, I can only imagine what the recording quality is like. I'm still grateful for 71 Minutes of Faust compilation. I'm still in awe of it as I'm typing this.

I know you're memeing, but come on.
Hot Rats, Spiderland and Another Green World are the only ones that aren't avant-garde albums.
this is Nirvana's most avant-garde album, especially with the Albini versions of each song. the hidden track too.

At least be somewhat close, come on.
