Is Rush special snowflake shit?
What is /mu/'s opinion on them?

FFS OP you are stopping me making my thread

They're one of my favorite bands. They don't take themselves seriously at all so they cant be considered "special snowflake"
>>72687533
They're boring imo.
I think geddy has a shit voice, and lifeson simply doesn't sound interesting.
Good drummer, i guess.

Listen to La Villa Strangiato off Hemispheres and reconsider your opinion.

this

mullet prog
Peart's a good lyricist and one of the best drummers of his era. They're all old as fuck and way past their limelight nowadays though
Rush are great but Geddy Lee's obsession with Ayn Rand really annoys me. Yeah I get it Tom Sawyer is a objectivist hero, let Neil do some cool drum shit.
Nah Rush are brilliant, Moving Pictures and Signals remain brilliant and have dated well unlike a lot of other prog rock

Neil Peart is the one with the Ayn Rand obsession, not Geddy Lee.

Tbh mate it's funny either way and it doesn't really take anything away from my enjoyment of their music.
Underrated on /mu/ imo
Hemispheres, Moving Pictures, Farewell to Kings, Caress of Steel...
God tier band.

Sounds like you have shit taste, friend.

Literally the greatest band of all time.
>>72687642
La Villa Strangiato is probably one of the greatest prog songs.

I wish Rush would have recorded an all instrumental album back in the '70s.
>>72688750
I never thought about that. It probably would've been great.
Great for their time. Hemispheres is still awesome. Other than that, fuck 'em.
They lost me after Permanent Waves but everything up to that is GOAT!
