I'd love him to explore some alt-country/country rock type sounds too. The problem his the production on his albums got really horrible from Magic onward and everything is mixed and mastered way too loudly.

I do. Raditude has moments that are significantly worse than Maladroit but also has a few songs I really love. Maladroits best tracks are the first 3 and Slob, none of which are as good as If You're Wondering... or Put Me Back Together, and then 9 tracks that are so bland that I have a hard time not tuning them out.
