I hate the autotuning parts desu (it sounds like a google traduction bot): totally ruins the album so far.

They are almost a one trick pony.
They manage to alter things just a bit so it sounds fresh, but overall they recycle their formula. All the WOOs, the guitar melodies following the sung melodies stuff and repeating one word for a chorus. All of this is getting kind of old and gimmicky. Also the vocal melodies are very similar to the ones on Nonagon, Mind Fuzz and FMB. But I still like the album very much t b h

Agreed, I think they do one particular sound but they do it really well. Kind of prevents them from achieving legendary status for me though. If they had more originality, a more daring songwriting attitude, they could easily match artists like Gong for me. But because they can't seem to write separate vocal/guitar parts and re-use themes so frequently I find myself rolling my eyes often. I still enjoy their music but I don't see time being kind to them at all; also, the Nonagon trilogy is all I really give a shit about anymore, at least there the revisiting of motifs can keep my interest.

I think the narration across MOTU is engaging and the guitar playing is pretty impressive, obviously not on the level of a group like King Crimson or Faust, but still creative and melodic. And it's probably the best thing the band has done.

There's no way you actually believe that every King Gizzard album sounds the same
