Why do normies hate this album?
>>72640595
only misinformed normies think that normies hate this album
because death grips clearly invented experimental hip hop and anything abstract made after 2012's the money store is a death grips ripoff
Normies like the same proportionate amount of songs from this album as they do from any other mainstream album under the sun.
>>72640595
Normies like it
Plebs love it
Patricians know it's one of Kanyes worst albums and an extremely bad attempt at industrial hip-hop
>>72640595
Normies asking why normies hate an album mostly appreciated by normies. Kanye is normie as fuck, son.
On sight is the best song, I love that sample
I have a manchild friend who does nothing but play overwatch all day and unironically listens to shit like Linkin Park and Blink 182 at 1.25x speed who loves this album.
Kanye's best album
>>72640932
>I have a friend
Suuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrreeeee.
>>72640893
no you got it wrong
normies = like it, although not every song
plebs = like it a bit more, but still not 100%
"patricians" = think it sucks, and is a rip off of death grips
actual patricians = realize that it's one of the best albums of the 21st century and is a fantastic work of music/art in general
>>72641045
this actually
>>72641045
Actual Patricians don't listen to Kanye, normie.
I fucking love it.
Fills my brain 100% all the time

This
>>72640608
super duper uber normies hate this album, regular run of the mill reddit/youtube normies like it
>>72641045
this
>>72640595
they don't, they think its the most experimental shit hop album ever made
>>72640608
the people that hate this album aren't that normie, because they think rappers should all be like Tupac or Nas. Find me a person that hates Yeezus and I'll show you a person that loves Kendrick. (not like you should really hate either)
>>72641126
Actual Patricians listen to everything indiscriminately and have such a finely honed taste that only they can make sense of what is good, and if people want to listen to why then it's on them to listen to every single thing in the same order

I fucking love DG but this and Money Store are incomparable. The artists were going for entirely different themes and sounds and you labeling them under the umbrella of 'experimental' or 'industrial' and saying Yeezus is somehow a ripoff is fucking retarded. Is Beethoven a ripoff of Mozart because he came after and they're both from the classical period?
That being said I still like Money Store and Yeezus about equally
>>72640595
This is actually my favorite Death Grips album and Im a normie
>>72640932
>le disparage my "friend" on 4chan of all places meme
Time to kill yourself.
>>72640932
tell him about BLINKIN PARK he'll be fucking psyched!
Yeezus was my favorite travis scott album
>>72640619
Kanye suddenly developing an interest in industrial, more experimental (to his standards) hip-hop right when artists like Death Grips and clipping. were buzzing really doesn't sound like a coincidence, though.
>>72642086
Death grips isnt really that big outside of hardcore music fans, and clpping isnt big at all.
>>72641994
I'm not really friends with him anymore. He's a deadbeat
>>72642086
there's much more to it than just the industrial influence, which isn't even present on most tracks. it's a cohesive artistic work that shows the depravity and filth that goes along with wealth, and his insistence on not giving up this lifestyle even if it makes whites uncomfortable. it's a one of its kind album really.
not only that, but death grips' production and usage of sampling couldn't ever touch this.
and if you don't like the clear lyrical themes which draw more upon punk than the hardcore tendencies of deaf grapes, then there are tracks like black skinhead and new slaves that would belong among some of the best racially conscious songs made in hip hop.
hating this album is one of the biggest pleb indicators in all of music
>>72642453
This thread is why Kanye fans should be permabanned on sight
>tfw literally everyone except me is a normie
Because Kanye can do much better.
/mu/ zombies say he peaked at MBDTF, while real patricians know he peaked back at Graduation
>>72642809
TLOP is great though. I like it as much as graduation and MBDTF, especially the second half.
>>72642809
His best release is objectively Late Registration and it's mostly because of Jon Brion, not Kanye.
>>72642740
t. Radiohead fan
>>72641731
such a narrow point of what normie is, you might be a normie yourself
>>72642453
It's only cohesive because less than a week before he had to turn the album in he panicked and called Rick Rubin to come in and help him trim the songs down to 3-6 minutes. The original version of I Am a God was 10 minutes long, for example.
Death Grips's production is head and shoulders ahead of this, especially in innovation.
It's got some of the worst lyrics Kanye's ever written, only topped in that regard by TLOP.
Most lyrical themes are drawn from his anger from being shut off by the fashion industry. Since just straight up making an album about how mad he was that other millionaires wouldn't let him design his own overprices clothes would never be taken seriously, he disguised his intentions with "socially conscious" lyrics that, when you pay attention, are just about himself, apart from being extremely hypocritical.
>>72642891
Radiohead actually has three good albums so that's hardly an insult coming from a Kanye fan.
>>72640595
this album is much better than any kendrick "kill all whites" lamar album and its not even his best
>>72643135
Danny Brown makes them both look like a joke
>>72643172
all 3 are really good and music isn't a contest
>>72643066
And Kanye had 3 before MBDTF
>>72643239
He had two at a push
>>72643045
your mistake is thinking kanye's mania and autism affect him negatively. in fact, his uncompromised vision and artistic control have only come to fruition since 2008, and we will be looking at the second half of his career the way we look at eras of Matisse or Picasso
>>72643261
Late Registration, 808s and College Dropout but I understand the last one isn't everyone's cup of tea.
>>72643313
ok
I really like all of his albums
but NO ONE thinks 808s is better than college dropout
>>72643359
Not the anon you quoted but I think it's a better album to listen nonstop, college dropout may be better but it makes me want to skip more songs.
>>72640932
>1.25x speed
why???
>>72643359
I know I don't, but I've met people around that really don't like College Dropout.
>We Don't Care
>Jesus Walks
